1. What data we collect

When you register, Friends Bet collects only the data strictly necessary to operate the service:

  • Username — your login identifier.
  • E-mail address — used for password recovery only; we do not send newsletters.
  • Password — stored as a one-way bcrypt hash. We never see your plaintext password.
  • Nickname — an optional display name shown to other members of your groups.
  • Language preference — stored to display the app in your chosen language.
  • Match bets and event predictions — data you enter voluntarily within your groups.

We do not collect payment information, location data, IP logs, or any sensitive personal data.

2. How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Authenticate you and keep you logged in.
  • Display your bets and score you within your group.
  • Send a one-time password-reset link to your e-mail if you request it.
  • Remember your preferred language across sessions.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purposes.

3. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Within your group, other members can see:

  • Your username and nickname.
  • Your bets and points (after the match is settled).

Your e-mail address is never visible to other users.

4. Cookies

We use only two cookies, both strictly necessary:

  • Session cookie — keeps you logged in during your browser session. It is deleted when you close the browser.
  • Language cookie (lang) — remembers your language preference for 12 months. No personal data is stored in it.

We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

5. Security

All communication with the server is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. We apply standard web-security measures (session management, input validation, CSRF awareness) to protect your data.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — view all data we hold about you (visible in your profile and group pages).
  • Rectification — update your username, nickname, or e-mail in settings.
  • Erasure — delete your account and all associated data permanently from Settings → Delete account. Group data (bets, results) created by you will also be removed.
  • Portability — contact us if you need an export of your data.
